TUTORIAL/INSTRUCTION

PRACTICAL/PROCESS
Week 13 Overview:
Focus: Continuation animating of the Self Titled

CONTINUATION ANIMATING SELF TITLED
Based on Week 12, I have already edited through half of the process, now its time to continue.

RESEARCH AND INSPIRATION:
Last week (Week 12) I have animated half of the process. I stopped after I was finished editing the Apple Eye Blinking fully.

Here is the last week result:

Now, I need to continue editing the Flow Red Lines part until I am finished with it. I need to make it smooth and continuous.

IDEATION:
FLOW RED LINES EDITING:

1) Making a Brush
I made a new composition to make a brush, the sizing of it was 200px to 200px and put in the same red colour taken from the digital poster.

Figure 2. Process picture #1

2) Shape of Brush

I added another layer and change it to Ellipse to create the Brush shape. The colour is still the same red colour from the digital poster.

3) Add Effects

I added Fractal Noise and Tint Effect to the brush. For Fractal Noise I change the contrast to 300 and keyframe the evolution. For Tint, I changed the Map Black to and the Map White to the same colour as the red line in the digital poster.

4) Adding and Adjusting Brush

Then I put the Brush composition to my animation and change the size of the brush so it fits with the red line.

5) Making Paths
I used the Pen Tool to make the Paths that follows the red line in my digital poster. The copy paste it to the Brush layer. This is made to make the Brush layer move.

6) Add adjustment layer
Adjustment layer is added (everything under adjustment layer will be change according to the preferences or effects added to it). I added Echo Effect to make the Brush layer to leave a trail of the red line. The echo time is adjusted to -0.005 then, number of echoes is 300 and the echo operator is set to minimum.

7) Finished

Any errors or tiny adjustments is made and now it is finished.

This is the end progress for now, will continue the final editing in CapCut on Week 14.

FEEDBACK
There's no feedback, just continue with the editing.

FINAL OUTCOME
END PROGRESS FOR EDITING:

REFLECTION
Experience
For the second part of editing, the process felt much smoother compared to the previous week. Since I had already gained some basic knowledge from the earlier editing tasks, I felt more confident using After Effects. Although it was easier, I still took my time arranging the layers properly and adding effects carefully to make sure everything looked clean and organized.

Observations
I noticed that understanding the software before this really helped me speed up the process. With the familiarity of the tools, it made it easier to focus on refining the animation instead of struggling with the basics functions.

Findings
From this task, I learned that practice plays a big role in improving editing skills. The more time I spent using After Effects, the more comfortable and efficient I became. This showed me that learning new software tasks patience, but it becomes much easier with repetition.
